ORGANIZATION'S PROFILE
REGISTRATION
The Resourceful International Organization (RIO) successfully completed the registration process in the state of Colorado, United States, on January 2, 2018. This significant milestone marked the organization’s inaugural establishment, thereby substantiating its legal existence within the state.
On the same note, the organization attained the status of being a tax-exempt non-profit entity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This recognition was bestowed upon RIO by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States Federal Government, on February 1, 2019.
The tax-exempt status as a non-profit organization signifies its commitment to serving the public good and enhances its ability to attract financial support, establish credibility, pursue grant opportunities, and potentially benefit from tax exemptions. This status plays a vital role in advancing RIO’s mission and amplifying its positive impact on the communities it serves.
Who We Are
Resourceful International Organization (RIO) is an International and local non- profit organization (501c3) that helps communities to get better education, job skills training, proper healthcare. RIO was founded to respond to the development gaps affecting communities and provides help during challenging times regardless of their race and national origin. RIO also tackles environmental issues like deforestation and locust control.

We strive to bridge development gaps by providing sustainable, entrepreneurial, and innovative solutions that connect young people with new ideas, skills, and a diverse network of individuals. Our mission is to create opportunities for marginalized youth, children, and women, enabling them to build sustainable socio-economic livelihoods and contribute to the development of their communities.

FOOD SECURITY & LIVELIHOODS
RIO recognizes that food security and sustainable livelihoods are crucial for the well-being and development of communities. We focus on this thematic area because it directly links to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set forth by the United Nations, including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
HEALTH & NUTRITION
RIO recognizes that good health and proper nutrition are fundamental rights and essential for overall well-being and human development. We focus on improving health and nutrition outcomes, with a particular emphasis on vulnerable populations, including women and children. Our interventions aim to strengthen healthcare systems, enhance access to quality healthcare services, promote preventative healthcare practices, raise awareness on hygiene and sanitation, and combat prevalent diseases.
GOOD GOVRNANCE & PEACE BUILDING
RIO recognizes that good governance and peace are essential for sustainable development and the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We understand that effective governance structures, transparency, accountability, and citizen participation are crucial for promoting social justice, reducing inequality, and fostering economic growth.
PROTECTION
At RIO, we are deeply committed to protecting the rights and well-being of marginalized individuals, particularly orphans, vulnerable children, and women. We understand that these groups face numerous challenges and are more susceptible to exploitation, violence, and discrimination
EDUCATION

WATER, SANITATION, AND HYGIENE (WASH)

We understand that lack of access to safe water and sanitation facilities disproportionately affects disadvantaged communities, leading to preventable diseases and hindering socio-economic development.

Climate change and sustainability are interconnected issues that are critical for the health of our planet and future generations.
Rio promotes awareness and implement sustainable practices that are essential for mitigating climate change and ensuring environmental resilience.
We educate communities about the causes and consequences of climate change, and use media, social networks, and community events to raise awareness about climate change issues. Highlight both the problems and the solutions to engage a broad audience.
GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE
RIO operates both internationally and locally, with a primary focus on Africa. We are dedicated to addressing the development gaps and empowering marginalized individuals in African countries, particularly in regions such as Somalia. However, our programs and initiatives extend beyond Africa to other parts of the world, where there is a need for our expertise and support.
As an international NGO, RIO International collaborates with RIO national chapters such as RIO Kenya, RIO Somalia, relevant government authorities, and other key stakeholders to create sustainable change and impact in communities across borders.
